To help your home shine in photos—and stand out in the market—please follow this prep guide. We photograph interior and exterior spaces. All rooms will be captured unless requested otherwise. Let us know ahead of time if you’d like to skip any areas.
🛋️ Home Interior
⬚ Clean the entire home – dust, vacuum, mop floors.
⬚ Open all blinds/shades and let the light in.
⬚ Clean all windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
⬚ Turn on all lights; replace any dead bulbs and match bulb color (cool/warm).
⬚ Hide all trash cans from view.
⬚ Turn off all ceiling fans.
⬚ Remove or neatly store children’s toys.
⬚ Declutter every room:
– Remove excess items, stacks of paper, or personal décor.
– Hide visible cords and electronics (except lamps).
⬚ Straighten dining chairs and fluff pillows.
⬚ Arrange furniture neatly for clean visual flow.
⬚ Turn off TVs, clean up media areas.
⬚ Dust ceiling fans, vents, light fixtures, and chandeliers.
🌳 Home Exterior
⬚ Move vehicles out of driveways and away from the front of the home.
⬚ Close garage doors.
⬚ Hide hoses, sprinklers, tools, and lawn equipment.
⬚ Mow grass, rake leaves, trim hedges.
⬚ Sweep porches, patios, sidewalks, and driveways.
⬚ Remove trash bins from sight.
⬚ Clean and vacuum pools; remove pool cleaners, toys, and maintenance items.
⬚ Turn on water features like fountains if available.
⬚ Stage outdoor seating—neat cushions, no clutter.
⬚ Remove toys, yard games, pet bowls, and random objects.
🐾 Pets
⬚ Secure pets in a contained area during the shoot.
⬚ Hide pet beds, crates, toys, litter boxes, and bowls (inside and outside).
⬚ Pick up pet waste and clear the yard.
🍽️ Kitchen
⬚ Clear countertops—remove appliances, utensils, and daily-use items.
⬚ Take magnets, papers, and photos off the fridge.
⬚ Empty the sink and hide drying racks.
⬚ Hide trash cans if visible.
⬚ Straighten bar stools/chairs.
⬚ Remove mail, keys, and any visible clutter.
🛏️ Bedrooms
⬚ Make all beds neatly (hotel-style preferred).
⬚ Clear nightstands and dressers of personal items.
⬚ Put away all clothing, shoes, bags, and clutter.
⬚ Clear under the bed if possible.
🛁 Bathrooms
⬚ Clear all counters—remove toothbrushes, bottles, razors, etc.
⬚ Remove toilet brushes, trash cans, bath mats, and scales.
⬚ Close toilet lids.
⬚ Remove shower products (or group neatly in a basket).
⬚ Use clean, matching towels or none at all.
⬚ Clean mirrors, sinks, tubs, and glass thoroughly.
